Selene

Selene is a hip hop concept album based on the movie, Moon. It's one of my favorite science fiction movies (featuring a full on double Sam Rockwell!), and these tracks sample the film's atmospheric soundtrack.
The music may contain some spoilers, so don't listen if you want to experience the movie as it's intended. Which you really should have done by now.

I suggest they follow this with an EP based on Primer. That would be rad.

Moon

Moon is an excellent science fiction movie about a solitary man working on a lunar mining station. He has only three weeks left from a three year stint, and he's starting to lose it. I don't really want to give anything more about the story away.

I am always a fan of Sam Rockwell, but he is particularly good in this. It's a challenging role and he pulls it off nicely. Kevin Spacey is also good as Rockwell's robot companion on the station. There is a really nice dynamic between them. There are conscious shades of HAL here, but this robot really holds its own in the realm of great movie robots.

If you like serious, heady sci-fi like 2001 and Primer then you'll almost certainly like Moon.

Moon

I love a good, brainy sci-fi film of the things-don't-blow-up variety. Unfortunately they just don't come out very frequently in this country. Movies like Primer and Solaris are few and far between, while abominations like Transformers spawn entire franchises. So I'm encouraged by the new trailer for Moon:

I love Sam Rockwell, and he's quite capable of carrying a movie by himself (especially if there are two of him). Moon looks like it will have some similarities with Solaris, which I think is an underrated film. I'm really looking forward to this one.

It has a great poster too:
