My Dad wouldn't go see it though, saying he lived through it (grew up in CA) and didn't need to see the movie. HE felt that Harvey Milk was an activist, and that the movie was going to narrow him to being a GAY activist.

I reallly want to see Slumdog Millionaire, but I doubt it will come to a theatre anywhere near me, so I'll probablly have to await until DVD.Sarahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15322076542766651446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32867199.post-54947719188972660292009-01-24T20:28:00.000-05:002009-01-24T20:28:00.000-05:00I loved Slumdog Millionaire. It has great energy, a great cast (some of the best child performances I've ever seen), and great creativity.

I guess if I put my critic hat on I could probably find faults with the film, but it was just such an exciting and fresh movie, I just got sucked in.

I haven't seen Doubt, but a lot of people have told me it really fails to live up to the play version, which was one of the best plays I've seen. Frost/Nixon, on the other hand, is a great adaptation of a great play. The performances by Langella and Sheen carry the movie: I don't see why Howard gets nominated, but it's a great film, probably not Best Picture though.

Slumdog's worth the money! Remove doubts!Doug Jhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01730672214781146206noreply@blogger.com
